I am Gregg A. Granger.
I returned in May of 2008 from four and a half years of sailing around the world with my wife, two daughters, and one son. It was a remarkable adventure, and I am currently marketing my book that chronicles our time in other worlds. Sailing Faith: The Long Way Home is the name of that book.
During our journey on Faith, we both witnessed and experienced health care in other parts of the world. Certainly, some of the health services we received were subsidized by the host countries in which we found ourselves. Most, including three days of hospitalization with malaria in Cairo, Egypt, complete physicals in Thailand, and dental services in Sri Lanka were from for-profit institutions.
During the months of May and June, 2011, I travelled to Thailand, specifically in search of the tests and procedures my American doctor suggested I have performed as the result of my being a fifty-something year old male. This blog is to share that personal experience.
